The end of the 2025 Kayak Adventure Series presented by GoPro culminated with Broodstock II in Franklin, Pennsylvania — where Route 80 and Route 79 bring you to French Creek and the Allegheny River, and where summer met autumn.

Franklin hosted anglers from seventeen states, combining for 130 registrations across three Realtree Fishing Realtime Leaderboards on TourneyX. Alex Miller landed a record-setting limit of 106.25" of Smallmouth Bass, crowning him the "Broodmaster" title and earning him a CrossKix Century Belt and GoPro Big Bass Bling. Miller's limit set a new KAS record for a limit of Smallmouth Bass and nearly challenged the all-time mark set on largemouth.

Opening Ceremonies presented by LureNet.com

Anglers gathered at Outdoor Allegheny River Services (OARS) on the banks of the Allegheny River for Opening Ceremonies, featuring food, drinks, fellowship and live music by "Acoustic Earl" and Abby Abbondanza. A special guest, Dr. Nathan Rigner, Director of Outdoor Recreation for Pennsylvania, delivered a welcome speech to kick off the weekend.

Bass U Brunch

Friday morning's Bass U Brunch featured an informative seminar from Jeff Little on smallmouth bass, river fishing, and his favorite rod, reel, and lure setups.

At the halfway point of the Afternoon Sesh, Miller had already posted a five-fish limit of 102". By mid-morning Saturday he had culled to 105.50" and called series founder Drew Gregory to ask about the all-time KAS record. Told it was 107 inches, Miller replied "Ok, I'm going to stay out here then!" His final limit of 106.25" was, as Gregory called it, a blowout. Miller estimated his best five weighed around twenty-six pounds, targeting fish sitting high in the water column using a Mooch Minnow and East Coast Deuce Minnow, picking off fish from schools of twenty or more bass.

Matt Ball took third with 93", Rus Snyders second with 93.5".

Nocqua Angler of the Year Points Race

Rus Snyders entered Broodstock weekend in sixth place in AOY standings but won the title when points leader Adam Coleman struggled on the water. Snyders walked away with an AOY prize package worth over $10,000, headlined by a brand new rugged overland kayak fishing trailer from Modern Buggy RV.

Snyders reflected: "My favorite thing about KAS is that it is not one body of water, and you can fish to your strength. The Kayak Adventure Series gives you different options, and for me it worked out that I won Angler of the Year by adapting."

Also at the awards ceremony, Steve Baker and Rus Snyders won the Torqeedo Team of the Year. For complete individual standings from Broodstock II visit TourneyX.
